5 characters that might die in Avengers: Infinity War

With all the MCU heroes converging in Avengers: Infinity War, there’s bound to be some casualties. Here’s who we think are going to kick the bucket

With Avenger’s: Infinity War hitting theatres this coming April, there’s a lot of excitement in the air. It more or less encompasses an era of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies that started 10 years back with the release of the first Iron Man movie.

With so many of the various (MCU) characters converging into this single movie, it’s going to be hero-fest the likes we’ve never seen before. After all, with 18 movies released so far, that’s A LOT of characters to fit into a single movie that’s going to last maybe around 2 hours long.

And considering how huge the movie is and the vast amount of characters in it, it wouldn’t be surprising if we see some characters and heroes kick the bucket. Yes, death does come to us all and for superheroes, it’s not exactly uncommon either. So here’s who we think are going to kick the bucket once Avenger’s Infinity War rolls in.

Hawkeye

Hawkeye

Clint Barton aka Hawkeye has always been pretty much a periphery character in the MCU, playing second fiddle to most of the other heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk. And while he is quite the character he hasn’t had a strong enough role to be kept around. While the actor Jeremy Renner has been confirmed for Avengers 4, speculation is he won’t be playing Hawkeye but another character Ronin, which the comic Hawkeye has taken the mantle before. However, it’s also speculated that this Ronin/Hawkeye will be from another universe so although the actor might be in it, the MCU Hawkeye we know might be no more.

Iron Man

Iron Man

It’s been 10 years since the first Iron Man movie was released and Robert Downey Jr has been Tony Stark/Iron Man just as long, so it’s about time we see a change. If you take into account that his contract with Marvel Studios end by the Avengers 4. We could be looking at an end of an era for the actor as Tony Stark. And if you’ve noticed in the Avenger’s: Infinity War trailer, there are hints that Tony doesn’t meet a good end. Whether that really happens or not, is still up in the air, so we’ll just have to see when the movie hits theatres.

Vision

If you’ve been following the MCU movies, especially the last Avengers movie, you’ll know that Vision is powered by one of the Infinity Stones, the Mind Stone, which the main baddie for Infinity War, Thanos, is going around collecting. Now being powered by a nice shiny gem that an all-powerful alien is looking for isn’t exactly the best case for survival. And while we do feel that Vision has the highest chances of kicking the bucket in the movie, we’re also likely to see him come back in the next. After all, these are comic characters we’re talking about.

Nebula

Nebula

Nebula was a pretty interesting character when she first turned up in The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2Her seething anger and her dad and sister issues pretty much gear her up for a showdown with Thanos. While, she isn’t exactly a hero, at the end of The Guardians movie she did seem to take a turn towards being a bit of an anti-hero. And with Thanos coming down Earth and the Guardians not too far behind, we’re pretty sure Nebula is going to be right in the thick of the action, and might even throw in some selfless sacrifice for her sis.

Captain America

Captain America

Finally, there’s Captain America. Ole Cap’s got some new rugged looks in the upcoming Infinity movie and since the last Cap movie saw the MCU take a page out of the Civil War storyline in the comics, they might just continue it a bit in the movie. We know Bucky is back (spoiler alert) from the Black Panther movie and after 10 years, it’s about time the Captain America mantle is passed down to someone else. So Infinity War might be the best time for Cap to lay down his shield permanently and Bucky to pick up the mantle.

So what do you guys think? Will our predictions be true or we’re just fluffing it as we go along? We’ll finally know as soon as Avengers: Infinity War hits Malaysian theatres this April .
