Johor Bahru has a new landmark and it is only 1km away from our neighbour Singapore! The long-awaited R&F Mall is finally opened to the public in its soft launch today, March 28.
The three-story shopping mall has an indoor-outdoor concept where shoppers can stroll in a mall that has an overseas experience: a mall that is lit by sunlight, naturally making shoppers happier.
R&F Mall’s soft opening has incredible deals and prizes for those who visit within this period. FeedMe Malaysia absolutely love the fact that the mall is giving away Coca-Cola cans that are customizable with your name. To get it, all you have to do is to spend RM30 in a single receipt and show it to the people manning this truck.
Next, R&F Mall is also giving goodies bags to shoppers which includes a magazine and lots of discount vouchers. Look at the line of the queue to get the goodies bags. Insane crowd.
Other than getting a personalized coke can, every spend of RM30 in a single receipt entitles you to participate in its soft launch’s contest where its grand prize flies you to Finland to witness the northern lights. The second prizes are 10 Jin Air tickets from Johor Bahru to Seoul Korea, third prizes are eight RM500 Petron fuel cards, and finally 30 mysterious R&F Mall exclusive gift bags.
The closest Malaysian mall to Singapore packs many FIRST in Johor Bahru, such as the first luxury cinema hailing from Hong Kong − Emperor Cinemas, the first Taiwanese Oregin bubble tea in Southeast Asia − Ji Ke, the first Kyochon fried chicken, the first Carl’s Jr and the first Kiddomo Children’s Innovation Centre. It also has the first Jaya Grocer and San Francisco Coffee in downtown JB central.
Chief Operating Officer of Jaya Grocer, Molly Loh, and Director of Administration and Special Projects of Emperor Cinemas Hong Kong, Vicky Wong, officiated today’s opening with Group Commercial Operations Chairman of R&F Group, Peter Li, and among other VIPs.
Ms Loh confirmed with FeedMe Malaysia that Jaya Grocer will open in R&F Mall this quarter-2 while Ms Wong said its Southeast Asia first cinema will welcome moviegoers some time around quarter-2 and quarter-3.
If you did not already know, the reason why R&F Mall is loved by Johoreans and Singaporeans is because the mall has a linked bridge connecting Sultan Iskandar CIQ (customs, immigration and quarantine) to R&F Mall. This bridge is changing the way people travel between the two countries and it is only an eight-minute walk.
During this soft launch period, shoppers can bring their children here to enjoy an array of activities lined up for them. Such as creating galaxy jars in a workshop, getting free balloons from a clown and popcorns, or even be marvelled by Kpop performances.
The concourse has three themes of igloos for those who want to snap their Instagram OOTD photos. The Dreamy Pink Igloo is the children’s favourite as it has a ball pit and a unicorn, Awesome Blossom for the ladies and Mystery Galaxy for the space-exploration curious kids.
All and all, FeedMe Malaysia had a wonderful time here. We had a wholesome breakfast at Old Town, Emack Bolio’s ice cream for dessert, sipped on some The Alley bubble tea and did a little bit of shopping in Mr DIY and Caring Pharmacy. So that we can have RM30 receipts to redeem customizable coke cans.
