The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) know where fugitive financier Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low, is hiding and they are now in negotiation with the authorities in that certain country to bring him back, NST reported hours ago (Jul 7).
Without mentioning the name of the country, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador said police need to approach the mission carefully and not to put too much pressure on the police of the country.
“We have to tread carefully as it requires a delicate touch so that we do not make any errors.
“This is also to ensure that the authorities do not feel like police here will pressure Low,” said Abdul Hamid today.
Ever since the Pakatan Harapan came into power, Jho Low is on top of the wanted list as he is allegedly the central figure in the 1MDB scandal. Low is said to have stolen billions of Ringgit out of the country’s sovereign fund.
“I hope the authorities in the country where Jho Low is hiding understands the need for our police to bring him back to face the law in Malaysia.
“InsyaAllah, we are waiting (to bring Jho Low back). The case has been going on for four years,” he added.
Meanwhile, the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Latheefa Koya stated last month that the anti-graft body would not reveal the steps taken in locating Low.
“If we are close enough (of getting Jho Low), I can’t tell you until we get him.
“Every time we go and announce that ‘Jho Low is in Macau and ‘we will come after you’, that doesn’t really help, does it?” Latheefa told reporters on June 21.
We wonder where our baby-faced billionaire playboy is. We wish PDRM the best in their negotiation.
