Khairy Blasts Lokman for Having “IQ of a Carrot” Turns Twitter into Wild Comedy Club

The ingredients of a viral tweet in Malaysia has to be: (1) related to politics, (2) tweeted among politicians, (3) throwing insults, (4) a great pun!

On Saturday night (Nov 3), former Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin posted a theSunDaily article that reported former Prime Minister Datuk Sri Najib Razak blaming Pakatan Harapan’s fraud, defamation and false promises for the loss of Barisan Nasional in the last election.

The Rembau MP, however, rubbished Najib’s claim and definitively stated the loss was because of the scandal-ridden 1MDB and 1MDB alone.

“We lost because of 1MDB. The end,” Khairy wrote in the short tweet, which was retweeted over 20,000 times.

Upon reading that, Umno Supreme Council member and diehard Najib supporter Datuk Lokman Noor Adam made a jab back at Khairy with a tweet, calling him “stupid” who wasn’t proactive in educating the public about the scandal.

“What to do, at that time @NajibRazak had a stupid youth chief that never make any attempt to study about 1MDB and explain it to the public. He only knows how to choose the right colours of his socks,” wrote Lokman at 8.44pm that night.

A few minutes later, Lokman continued and replied to a tweet by Khairy three months ago which was pinned on top on his page. The post was about “SST vs GST” argument between Khairy and Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng posted on August 1.

No one knows why Lokman would reply to that three-month-old tweet, maybe he didn’t know how Twitter’s pinned post works. Anyway, he chastized Khairy would never become Umno president with “this kind of finger-pointing attitude”.

Lokman tweeted twice to Khairy in one night but today, with just one tweet Khairy put Lokman into a huge embarrassment.

“You better pray I don’t become President of UMNO. First thing I’ll do is sack you for having the IQ of a carrot,” wrote the Rembau MP.

If you didn’t know, Lokman is only a syllable away from “Lobak”, the Bahasa Malaysia word for “carrot”. Thus, Lokman can be seen as a Carrot-Man.

Netizens couldn’t help themselves but to find Khairy’s comeback hilarious. Here are some of the reactions we find in the tweet thread:
