There’s a new recreational park in Kuala Lumpur and it’s got tons of interesting sights and attractions for visitors to explore. The best part though is that it’s free entry for Malaysian until April 13 this year.
The new park is called 99 Wonderland Park and it’s located at Tasik Sri Murni, Selayang. The park is owned and operated by the JL99 group, a property developer that has so far developed three high rise properties in the Kuala Lumpur area; The Reach at Titiwangsa, Setapak, LakePark Residence at KL North, Selayang, and Legend Heights at Segambut.
This park, however, is totally different from what they’re known for. The park is built atop a what used to be a 23-acre derelict retention pool. Now, three years since its construction in 2015, the recreational park now houses a variety of attractions for park-goers to enjoy. JL99 Group claims that up to 18 million was used to transform the derelict pool to the attraction it is today.
According to the ’99 Wonderland Park website, there are a total of 17 different attractions at the park. Among them include a ’12 Zodiac Walkway’ which feature, as it names hints, the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals, the 99 Jetty which brings you to the 99 cruise boat that goes around the lake, a T-rex Ring with two massive T-Rex sculptures and three beautifully made water fountains.
That’s not all, the park also houses a variety of animals from deers, various birds and even Ostriches. It even has hatchery and incubator room for the birds which are manned by professional veterinary technicians and workers.
The park was recently opened by our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak with much fanfare and reportedly a 10,000-strong crowd attendance.
The 99 Wonderland Park is currently free for Malaysians to enter until April 13. All you need is to show your MyKad.
