Last month, FeedMe Malaysia reported that Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim saying that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) would be offering 50% discount on traffic summonses in December.
After waiting eagerly for the updates, the schedules are finally released on various Facebook pages from the police department.
According to Polis Daerah Kajang, the Kajang district police headquarters would be offering the discount for three days from December 13 to 15. The payment and summons review counters would be opened from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
However, the discount is not applicable to those who have received arrest warrants, summons issued during Ops Selamat, violation of traffic red lights and those involving lorries − all in 2018. Similarly to those summonses with “court status” and Non-Compoundable offences are also not eligible to the discount.
The Kajang police HQ said the discount is as instructed by Bukit Aman police department under their terms and the offer is in conjunction with Hari Bersama Pelanggan IPD Kajang (Kajang Police Station with the Public Day).
In another post by Trafik KL JSPT KL, the same offer is available at JSPT Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Tun H S.Lee, from 8.30am to 4pm on December 17 to 20.
According to Sinar Harian, the Selangor Police is also offering the statewide discount in 15 locations including Gombak, Sungai Buloh and Ampang, except for the station in KLIA. The 50% discount started yesterday (Dec 13) and it will end on Saturday (Dec 15).
Previously, it’s reported that the traffic summons discount aims to attract members of the public to the police station to learn about the recent crimes around the city. The initiative also strives to connect with the people.
