Malaysia’s laundry shops attract many criminal activities due to their 24/7 operation hour and lack of security at night but this case in Gombak could potentially be the most notorious and cruel one in recent records.
According to The Star, the incident happened at a launderette along Taman Gombak Ria about 12.30am on Tuesday (Sept 11). The viral CCTV footage that captured the incident saw two men tossed a stray cat into a coin-operated dryer.
The men noticed the cat was under a table when they were folding the clothes. One of them grabbed the cat by its front legs and hurled it into the machine while another held open the door. The cat remained trapped inside the dryer as the men continued folding the clothes.
As they were about to leave, they walked back to the dryer to peek at the cat but moments later, they decided to activate the dryer and inserted some coins. Both of them were seen slotting the coins into the machine. Before they left, they even came back to take one last look at the cat.
In the footage below, you could see the cat was being spun inside the dryer because of the overwhelming rotating force!
One of the men seemed to hold the other back as they exited the launderette. They appeared to have a squabble. Nonetheless, whatever they argued was inconsequential because, in the end, the cat had died in the slow death.
If you are unfamiliar with how a dryer works, it generally has a longer runtime than a washing machine which lasts about 30 minutes to one hour. It spins at a rapid speed and it emits hot air so that your clothes would come out absolutely dry and ready to wear. One could only imagine how painful and slow the death was for the cat… and worst of all, it’s reportedly pregnant!
According to the viral post that had been shared over 10,000 times, the pregnant cat “had died and was soaked in its own blood.”
