You might be familiar with the saying, “the smallest coffins are the heaviest”. It seems like the fundament of the saying is just as true regardless what form of a container the child’s body is kept.
This morning (Jul 28), when a cleaner was sorting out rubbish in one of the bins at a Penampang apartment, Sabah, she found a red plastic bag thought to be carrying discarded chicken meat, FMT reported.
Without thinking much, she took the bag among the trash but realized it was much heavier than it should be.
The lady then became suspicious, thus putting the bag down on the floor to inspect the content. To her surprise, she found a dead baby girl with its umbilical cord still attached.
According to The Star, Penampang police chief Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the cleaner alerted the police about her discovery at 10.20am. The plastic bag was found near Cyber City Apartment II.
“Medical officials found that the baby was already lifeless,” he said.
The body was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem. Mohd Haris urged those with information about the case to contact the police and assist with the investigation.
We hope the police could get to the bottom of this. RIP, little child.
