Do not get murderous this Valentine’s Day despite how jealous you get over your ex’s new love.
According to Berita Harian, a man was attacked by his wife’s ex-husband out of jealousy in Lahad Datu, Sabah yesterday (Feb 11).
The incident happened when the victim, 30-year-old Kasim Martin, was eating at his workplace and suddenly the suspect approached him with a machete.
The suspect slashed Kasim and immediately, it incited a scuffle between the two husbands until workers there came to break the fight and save Kasim.
Astro Awani reported that the suspect is 25-year-old which was caught by the crowd during the incident at about 9.30am Monday in Ladang Kelapa Sawit Felda Sahabat 56.
Kasim received seven stitches on his head and sustained some injuries on his right hand.
“The friends of the victim broke up the fight and grabbed the suspect before policemen from the Desa Kencana police station were called in and that the machete is confiscated”, said Lahad Datu district police chief ACP Nasri Mansor.
It was reported that the attack was out of raging jealousy from the ex-husband.
It is revealed that the suspect and the victim’s wife were a married couple five years ago and have three children. But the marriage lasted till last July.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, which carries imprisonment for up to ten years, a fine, or whipping, or any two of the punishments, upon conviction.
So ladies and gentlemen, be careful of crazy exes − of yours and your partner’s − this Valentine’s Day.
