Watch: King Stops His Journey to Check on Accident Victims Again

It is fair to say by now that every Malaysian knows our King is a compassionate monarch who often interacts with rakyat at the public places. This time, the King has yet again stopped his journey to check on accident victims when his motorcade was passing by.

It looks like our accident rate is high as usual because this is the second time our King has done this.

In an Instagram post published by Istana Negara, it saw Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah walking with his entourage towards the accident victims.

The 53-second video showed Sultan Abdullah talking to a female victim who seemed unhurt, checking if she was okay. The victim was smiling when conversing with Sultan Abdullah and even bowed twice.

The footage also showed a grey Toyota Vios that was severely damaged from the accident with a crushed car roof, broken windscreens and the back bumper was completely fallen off.

According to The Star, the incident happened today (Aug 5) at 10.45am when Sultan Abdullah was passing by Sultan Abdul Halim highway near Jalan Duta.

Istana officials said they witnessed the Toyota Vios collided with the guardrail on the highway.

At the time, the King was heading to Muzium Negara to officiate an exhibition. Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, was also with the King during the incident.

This is the second time for our 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong to pull up amidst his journey to check on accident victims. On June 26, the King was also spotted stopping at Putrajaya to see the driver and passengers of a red Perodua Alza were alright.

Some netizens complained that these victims did not know how to accurately show respect to the King in this recent incident but most comments expressed that they were happy to have such a thoughtful King in Malaysia.

If it happened to us, we would not even know how to greet Agong or address ourselves in conversations. Anyway, we are so touched by our King’s actions.
