It was a perfect night for the fans of Wang Leehom yesterday (Mar 16) as the Taiwan superstar sang his heart out to thousands of concertgoers at Stadium Merdeka.
Debuted in 1995, Leehom has countless classics that fans wanted to hear but he could only sing so much in the three-hour concert. Therefore, towards the end of the show, Leehom carried nothing but his guitar and walked down the stage to ask his fans to decide what songs he should sing next.
The music doctorate holder had no trouble fulfilling requests after requests of songs until a fan put Leehom in a pickle. A female fan asked the American-born singer to perform an English song. Leehom does not have a song of his own that is fully in English.
Hesitant, Leehom sang another fan’s song request first before he walked back to the stage and started strumming the tune of Perfect by Ed Sheeran.
You can watch it in the videos below.
Leehom singing Perfect by Ed Sheeran is on the fifth slide in influencer Stephy Yiwen’s post.
“I love this encore session!! @wangleehom just sing whatever fans requested. So free, fun and enjoy!” Instagram user Sincy wrote.
Leehom said that he loves to perform in Malaysia as he felt very “free”. Calling the segment “zero-distance experience”, Leehom walked down the stage to interact with the fans and even sang Happy Birthday to one male fan. How lucky!
Did Leehom know Ed Sheeran is coming to Malaysia after him on April 13 which explains why he sang that song? Or is it just a coincidence?
